Algorithms have warped our senses of temporality so much that being the “first” to know about whatever likely feels as dislocated & fleeting as all the rest of it, but…

…Still, let it be known that you—subscribers to this newsletter for the reading/listening/conversation series formerly known as Liner Notes, relocated & renamed as Track Changes—are the first to see this announcement for the November edition, featuring stellar poets Gina Myers (Philly) & Ryan Skrabalak (Kingston, NY)!

Guest Playlist: October 2025

If you missed the inaugural Track Changes, to quote Leonard Cohen completely out of context (as I do): “….but we have the music.”

Track Changes 001 playlist: Olga Mikolaivna & Niina Pollari

Non-exhaustive list of topics discussed: a legendary bar in Olympia called Le Voyeur; an ill-advised “suspenders era” in the early-aughts; jungle juice; Lou Reed’s beloved & inveterate crankiness; periods of unending rain; stoner metal (non-pejoratively); noise (general); noise (as related to filling space, & to poetry); friends & beloveds who left this world before us; weeping in front of Cy Twombly paintings; lyrics that don’t age well; punks whose politics also don’t age well; the musicality of translation; venn diagram overlaps between the Nordic & Slavic souls. I’ll leave you to mentally map what arose in relation to which song.

We were riveted by Olga demonstrating…. something very literary, I’m sure.

Thanks so much to everyone who came for being so attentive & supportive! You’re wonderful.

Speaking of, four wonderful people have (already!) donated pay-it-forward community tickets to any future Track Changes event. If you’re currently low on funds, or want to bring a poetry-curious +1, or whatever the case may be, just email me or say “community ticket” at the door.

Tell your offline friends about it, too! (Also, tell them I envy & admire their ability to be elsewhere.)

See you at the next one, I hope—

Alina
